Information and Communication Technology at Tauranga Intermediate
Teachers and students have accesss to three well equipped computer suites and two specialist teachers. Classes are timetabled to use these facilities intensively over a three week period once a term, focussing on developing software skills to integrate iCT with other curriculum learning. Laptops are available for general classroom use when required.
All classrooms have at least one desktop computer linked to school network services ie intranet / internet, printing and file servers, and individual home directories. The school intranet provides a forum for a range of extension activities and all students have the opportunity to contribute to class and personal websites

Into The Future

In 2007 Tauranga intermediate school embarked on an extensive upgrade to Classroom IT infrastructure which will enable us to create truely blended learning environments. This entails equipping all classes with five multi-media desktop computers, and interactive whiteboards / data projectors. Also a server to link home and school which informs the students as learners and provides a means of communication between individual stakeholders and local / international communities
